How Custom Works
Custom is the essence of what we do, and it all starts with you. You live in your home, and we are there to optimize that for you. With decades of experience in interior design, architecture, building code, making the most of square footage and efficient spatial layout, we can produce nearly anything for your home.
No matter what we are making for our clients, the process is customized at every step along the way. We consult—hear your ideas, share ours, and look at any inspiration photos you may have. Once we provide you an estimate and receive a deposit, we get to work. As with any reputable construction contractor, Montes provides estimated start and finish dates. As a licensed insured registered business in the state of Connecticut with only good reviews, we work until you are satisfied!
Design Concept
We meet on site. We take in your space, how you live in it and exchange ideas. We create a basic design concept and agree upon investment and schedule.
Production
Some pieces are finished off site, but most are custom crafted on site and finished in place to ensure the best fit and finish. We welcome your feedback and make adjustments as the piece develops.
Delivery
When every detail is perfect you sit back and enjoy. Unlike many other contractors, if anything arises even after delivery that needs adjusting, we always stand by our work.
Custom is more than woodworking. It’s everything from fit and finish through details like special mechanisms and led lights. We work with all local designers, electricians, plumbers, landscapers, general contractors, countertop fabricators, lumber suppliers, sawmills, hardware suppliers and other local companies.
We minimize the amount of waste going to a landfill and prefer to see what we can reuse rather than the "rip it all out" model of remodeling.
